Strikers edge Peaks in last-over thriller to keep perfect record
Rajesh Mahato hits the winning boundary with one ball left as Janakpur chase 171 at Mulpani.
Janakpur Strikers made it three wins from three on Wednesday, beating Pokhara Peaks by three wickets with one ball to spare in the best finish of the season so far.
Rajesh Mahato finished unbeaten on 38 off 19 balls, hitting the winning four through extra cover off the fifth ball of the last over.
Gurung leads the Peaks innings
Peaks captain Nirajan Gurung made 68 off 45 balls after being put in, and his side's 170 for 5 looked a strong total on a pitch that had slowed down in recent games.
The chase wobbles, then turns
Strikers lost wickets regularly and were 120 for 6 after 15 overs, needing 51 from 30 balls. Mahato took 17 off the 17th over to change the mood, and the target came down to nine from the final six balls.
A wide and two singles brought it down to five, before Mahato found the gap.
What it means
Strikers move level with Kathmandu Thunder on six points. Peaks have one win from three games and face Thunder next.
