Preview: unbeaten Thunder host Peaks at Kirtipur
The league leaders go for five in a row against a Pokhara side that has won one of its three games.
Kathmandu Thunder put their perfect record on the line against Pokhara Peaks at Kirtipur on Saturday, with the first ball at 3:00 pm Nepal Time.
Thunder have won all four of their games, three of them while chasing. Peaks beat Lalitpur Falcons comfortably last week but lost a last-over thriller to Janakpur Strikers on Wednesday.
Team news
Thunder are expected to name an unchanged side for the fifth game in a row. Peaks may bring in a second spinner after their seamers went for more than ten an over at the death against Strikers.
The key battle
Sujan Adhikari against the Peaks new-ball pair. The Thunder opener has scored at a strike rate of almost 170 in the powerplay this season, and Peaks will want early wickets to stop him setting the tone again.
The pitch
First-innings totals at Kirtipur have averaged 163 this season, and the surface has slowed down later in the evening. The toss could matter: four of the last five games here were won by the side batting second.
Our view
Thunder are in the best form in the league, but Peaks have the batting to post a big total if captain Nirajan Gurung bats deep. Expect a close game.
