Season guide: eight teams, 28 league games and one trophy
Everything you need to know before the first ball: the format, the grounds, the teams and the players to watch.
The new season starts on Sunday, with Kathmandu Thunder taking on Butwal Warriors at Kirtipur. Here is what to expect over the next month.
The format
Eight teams play each other once in the league stage, a total of 28 games. Teams get two points for a win and one for a no-result. If teams finish level on points, net run rate separates them.
The top four reach the playoffs. The top two meet in the first qualifier, with the winner going straight to the final, while third and fourth play an eliminator.
The grounds
Games are split between Kirtipur, Mulpani and Pokhara. Kirtipur has traditionally helped spin later in the day, while the outfield at Mulpani is one of the fastest in the country.
The teams
Kathmandu Thunder and Biratnagar Blaze start as many people's favourites after strong off-seasons. Janakpur Strikers have the best finishers in the league, and Pokhara Peaks have kept most of last season's squad together.
Players to watch
Thunder opener Sujan Adhikari, Peaks captain Nirajan Gurung and Strikers finisher Rajesh Mahato all have the power to win games on their own. Look out too for Dhangadhi's young fast bowler Kamal Bista.
We will have previews, reports and analysis for every game, plus live scores throughout the season.
